The country’s readymade garment shipments to major export destinations witnessed a decline in July, the opening month of the financial year 2026-27, following similar trends of previous fiscal years.
In July of FY27, the RMG exports witnessed a decline of 1.92 per cent to USD3.89bn, which was USD3.96bn in the same month of FY26, according to data from the Export Promotion Bureau. The decline was more pronounced in woven garments exports, which fell by 3.16 per cent to USD1.73bn, than in knitwear exports, which slipped by a narrower 0.90 per cent to USD2.16bn.
