Inflation falls for second straight month to 10-month low of 8.26pc

Inflation has fallen to 8.26 percent in August, marking a second straight monthly decline and its lowest level in 10 months.

Point-to-point inflation stood at 8.32 percent in July, the first month of the current fiscal year. It was 8.17 percent in October 2025 before rising again.

Food inflation dropped to 7.02 percent in August from 8.16 percent in July, while non-food inflation edged up to 9.32 percent from 9.28 percent.
