Berger earns higher profit, supported by revenue growth

by fstcap

Multinational company Berger Paints has experienced a 10.50 per cent year-on-year growth in profit to Tk 883 million in October-December (Q3) riding on a revenue growth.

It experienced a 0.43 per cent year-on-year growth in profit in April-June (Q1) while the growth was 25 per cent in July-September (Q2) of its financial year that starts in April.

Managing Director Rupali Haque Chowdhury said the company’s performance in Q3 was above the industry’s growth, adding that the painting industry grew at 3 per cent during the same period.

Berger’s growth was supported by income from products that had been re-launched, Ms Chowdhury said. Income derived from the backward linkage units also facilitated the profit growth.

The company’s revenue experienced a 10.5 per cent growth year-on-year to Tk 7.5 billion in Q3, FY25. The revenue in the nine months through December last year was Tk 20.15 billion, 7.30 per cent up from the same period of the previous year.

During the nine-month period, its net profit advanced 9.27 per cent year-on-year to Tk 2.41 billion.

Berger Paints, an ‘A’ category company, exhibited a persistent growth in profits between 2020 and 2024.

The company distributed a 500 per cent cash dividend for 2024, 400 per cent for 2023, and 400 per cent for 2022.    https://today.thefinancialexpress.com.bd
