Walton Hi-Tech Industries PLC has expanded its global business network to Libya by appointing Libyan electronics marketing company Asar Al Teqnia as distributor of Walton products in the North African country.
An agreement was recently signed at Walton’s corporate office in Dhaka between the two companies, according to a press release.
Under the agreement, Asar Al Teqnia will market and sell Walton-branded refrigerators, televisions, air conditioners, washing machines and other electronic products across Libya.
Walton Hi-Tech Industries Additional Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer Md Ziaul Alam FCA, ACA (ICAEW), and Asar Al Teqnia Managing Director Al Sadik Al Tahir Al Sageer Karah signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations.
Abdur Rouf, head of Walton Global Business Division, said the company was seeking to establish Walton as one of the world’s leading electronics brands by expanding its presence across 100 countries.
He said Walton’s innovative technology, modern designs, durability, product quality, energy efficiency, environmental credentials and competitive pricing had given the company an edge over other brands in international markets.
“These strengths are helping Walton quickly earn consumers’ trust in overseas markets and add new countries to its global business network,” Rouf said.
Walton’s brand business has already expanded to 55 countries, with Libya becoming the latest market, he added.
Rouf said Walton had already exported two shipments of Walton-branded refrigerators, air conditioners, televisions and washing machines to Libya this year.
“We expect our expansion in Libya to facilitate Walton’s entry into other North African markets,” he said.
Walton Chief Marketing Officer Zoheb Ahmed, Walton Global Business Division Deputy Head Saied Al Imran and Libya Country Manager Abdul Latif Pramanik attended the signing ceremony.
