The DSE traded Tk75 crore worth stocks in the first 75 minutes which hints a lower turnover than yesterday
The country’s prime bourse Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) closed today with slight intraday corrections throughout the session and the gains of Monday got almost wiped away by the first hour of trading amid increased lower trading volume. DSEX, the key benchmark at the Dhaka Stock Exchange, lost 0.20 percent or 8.18 points to settle at 3976, which is 8 points down from yesterday. The index was 0.62 percent up on Monday, accompanied by turnover above Tk250 crore. Turnover, one of the key indicators of the market, was a little above Tk139 crore by the end today. Of the total 352 issues traded, a number of 242 remained unchanged, while only 25 advanced and 85 declined. "A ten-day long imposed holiday to curb coronavirus spread in the country has made investors more cautious than the previous session. Apart from that we do not see any new bad news for stocks today," said a brokerage CEO. However, DSEX plummeted its recorld low today at 11:30am with 3962 points after losing 0.5 percent.
